Saturday, October 18, 2025 9am – 1pm – Dorey Park
A celebration of native plants, the ecosystems they support, and local organizations working hard to protect our environment. We’ll have native plant vendors, educational booths, kid activities, free plant vouchers, and more! Food trucks will be available next door at the Dorey Park Farmers Market.
The event will be located next to the Dorey Park Farmers Market at 2999 Darbytown Rd, Henrico, VA 23231
Sunday, November 16th, 2025 11am – 4pm – Chimborazo Park
Join us at the Chimborazo Native Food Project as we celebrate this season's harvest and all of the wondrous edible plants that are native to this area. November 23rd, 1pm-3pm at Sneeds Nursery
Hickories are invaluable trees for wildlife and humans alike, as well as being beautiful landscape trees. Will and Bethany will share about Hickory trees and demonstrate how to process their nuts into Kanuchi, a hickory-based soup, porridge or drink. At the class's end, everyone will have a chance to try (and hopefully fall in love) with this indigenous drink. This class is part of their Nurture with Native Plants class series, which reminds and shows us the ways that native plants heal and feed our bodies and ecosystems.
Bare Root Trees, Root Divisions, and Tubers available now for pre-order. Plants will be distributed November 2025-March 2026 (distribution timing depending on plants purchased).
Come garden with us as we learn and grow together at one of Richmond's only strictly native food forest projects! We usually gather on the 3rd Sunday of each month for a few hours of work at the Chimborazo Native Food Forest in Chimborazo Park in Richmond, VA.
